Start with the decision
We work with leadership and operational owners to define the decisions behind a request: which areas need investment, why margin is changing, where working capital is constrained or which process needs attention. We identify the evidence required, the decision deadline and the person accountable for acting. That purpose guides the analysis, reporting and platform work.
- Which decision is blocked by missing or conflicting evidence?
- Which business drivers and alternatives need to be compared?
- Who owns the decision, and how will the result be reviewed?
Create a shared foundation for decisions
We review spreadsheets, reports and source systems with business and data owners. Conflicting figures may reflect different populations, time windows or allocation rules. We reconcile those differences and document each metric’s source, calculation, exclusions and owner. Data gaps and access constraints are recorded alongside the business questions they prevent you from answering.
A roadmap your team can use
Deliverables can include a prioritized decision and analysis backlog, a metric dictionary, a source-system inventory and a delivery sequence. Each priority identifies its business owner, acceptance criteria and dependencies. We distinguish an urgent business investigation from reusable reporting and architecture work, so the roadmap addresses current questions while building a sustainable foundation.
- Executive questions and evidence requirements
- Shared KPI definitions and accountable owners
- Business diagnostics and action priorities
- Architecture, reporting and enablement dependencies
Shared work across North America and Europe
Our shared team in Toronto, Canada, and Riga, Latvia, works with stakeholders across North America and Europe. Discovery sessions and written decisions keep business and technical teams aligned. If Tableau Next or Tableau+ is under consideration, we capture your use cases and requirements before proposing a product scope.
Common questions
Do we need a data warehouse before starting?
No. Discovery can begin with the data and reports you already have. We assess whether they support the agreed reporting need and identify any preparation or infrastructure work required.
What should we bring to an initial discussion?
Bring the decisions you want to improve, examples of current reports, the names of source systems and the people responsible for those systems. Sensitive records are not needed for the first discussion.
